happy

I really really enjoyed this roof crack problem called Bachar Cracker (maybe you can tell that from the picture), so much so that I really messed up my hand trying it... it was swollen for 2 days Posted by Picasa

beta

Mats and Noah sharing beta for Midnight Lightning... i've been told that this is the most famous boulder problem in the world :) Posted by Picasa

accent of Midnight Lightning

Mats about to finish up the scary mantle at the top of Midnight Lightning. This is the first time he commits to this move and he gets it first try... I wish I had tried this problem. Posted by Picasa

spectator sport

We had quite the crowd gathered around us on Midnight Lightning on our last day. Posted by Picasa

unfortunate weather

It was unfortunately rainy for two of the days that we were in yosemite... this was even worse because I hadn't climbed much prior to the rain because I had wreaked my hand on Bachar Cracker (an amazing roof crack boulder problem). Posted by Picasa

rest day in yosemite

This might be called Nevada Fall, I don't really remember anymore. Anyways, on our rest day I hiked up to the top of this and another fall. The last couple miles was covered in snow and I had not thought ahead of time and was thus hiking in my sandals :) I got many funny comments on that, especially as I passed stuggling families. The hike ended up being over 10 miles and I ran 2.5 of it... I was incredibly fatigued the next day. Posted by Picasa

New Link

Some of you might have noticed that I added a new link today. You should all check it out. This 43 things a a site where you can make a list of 43 goals for yourself. You can look at other peoples goals and cheer them on and talk about when you completed your goal or whatever someone else is working on. It is pretty cool :)

Maximus in Red Rocks

This is also quite late and was a bit of an after thought picture. I remembered that I hadn't taken any pictures in Red Rocks as I drove out, so I pulled over and took this one. Do you see Beau in the window? Posted by Picasa

J Tree Campsite

I know this is late, but it wouldn't let me publish this picture until now. That is Maximus in the lower right hand corner with Tiago's car next to him and Max's next to that. This was such a great campsite, we woke up every morning close to what we wanted to climb and some times right next to it. We were also very isolated from the rest of the camp, making us a bit hidden from the rangers and wind. (Our site is actually below this picture) Posted by Picasa

the definition of a high ball

At this point pads and spotters are no longer useful. You just have to get to the top without falling. Hugo, Isaac and Max all did this problem... no mom I did not even think about getting on this. There are lots of high balls in the Buttermilks, but I am pretty sure that this is the highest one. Posted by Picasa

Happy Boulders

This is the view from Atari in the Happy Boulders. It rained on and off most of that day, making us take shelter in some caves a couple times. I finished making one of my curtains during one of those cave periods. Posted by Picasa
