candy colored frown

Beau has been especially happy lately as I have started working from home everyday. He gets to go for a run or walk on my lunch breaks and we play a little when it gets slow. I kind of enjoy it too :)

It is bouldering season again! Finally it is cooling down enough to start attacking the boulders in LCC. Josh and I have been doing a little bouldering in White Pine lately... the place is pretty fun. There is a pretty sweet problem down near the bottom of the area (pictured above). It has 2 monsterous moves on it and I think that I can do both of them. I did get the first one after a few attempts, but the second is taking more courage than I have mustered so far. Soon...

serendipity demands curiosity

Josh and I went to Castle Rocks a couple weekends ago in search of some good "cooler" bouldering. We had heard a lot of great things about the bouldering, but unfortunately we weren't able to find all that much. Hopefully sometime we can come back with someone who knows where all the goods are!

Rabbits have Kittens

I didn't know that to "have kittens" meant to be fearful. I wonder where that came from, it doesn't make much sense to me. Fall has been playing around with Salt Lake City lately. Sometimes it is pretty damn nice, but then the next day it is right back up into the 90s. This was the hottest summer on record for SLC and I am more than tired of the heat! I just can't wait until Fall actually arrives.

And here they are everyone, the new climbing shoe... drumroll ... Chacos! I fogot my climbing shoes the other day after a good drive down to American Fork. Instead of packing it up and heading home, I decided to climb it up in the Chacos. They rocked it on a 9, 10 and 11 :) They were definitely formless, mostly arm ascents, but they shoes only actually slipped a few times!

I know, it has been awhile! Truthfully, I am thinking about posting all the time... but then I remember that I have no climbing pictures. It is incredibly difficult to take climbing pictures when you are either climbing or belaying the entire time that you are out climbing. With that said... I do have some pictures. Two weekends ago, Josh and I went to the City of Rocks for the first time. The place was amazing! Rock everywhere!

We spent the first night in some manky camping spot on BLM land, and then thankfully met up with some awesome SLC folks who offered to share their campsite with us the second night. The campsite was gorgeous and we enjoyed ourselves with a good amount of New Belgium - the stuff that you can't get in Utah.

We woke up to find a pretty huge guest in the car with Beau the second morning. I can't say that I was scared of him... but I am glad that Josh was the one volunteering and finger and I was the one with the camera.

All in all, the City was a spectacular place. Every climb that we did was awesome and we only got to do, maybe 1, 10000th of the climbs. I think we are going to check out it's neighbor, Castle Rocks this coming weekend.
