wine and salty crimson skin

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted... Josh and I just got back from a 9 day trip to Vermont. While a wedding was the primary reason for the trip, we managed to squish in a whole bunch of stuff.
-There are different pictures on the SheSends Blog, you should check it out!-

Above, Josh is climbing around on the warm up boulder at Smuggler's Notch. The bouldering there was completely awesome, tons of non-greasy boulders everywhere!

We spent one of the nights in Montreal, eating some delicious food, walking all over the city and checking out a couple of bars. I unfortunately failed to take many pictures of Montreal and certainly didn't like any of the ones that I did.

On our way back from Montreal we stopped at the Boyden Valley Winery and tried about 10 different delicious kinds of wine... I was able to leave without buying any the first time, but we passed it up again and I just had to get some of the cranberry wine.

We also hit up Rumney for some sport climbing. The moves on all the routes were incredibly unique and the great bolting made leading rather fun. Although it was hot and very humid, we stayed cool by taking a mid-day swim in the gorgeous river right across the street.

Self portrait from on top of one the awesome and over hanging 5.10s ... that one is for you Rachel :)

At the end of the trip we drove into New Hampshire to Josh's family Camp (otherwise know as a cottage). Most of the time there was spent reading (mainly finishing Harry Potter) and visiting with extended family. It was nice to get a little resting time in before we started our second full day airport adventure.

Josh and I went to Moab this last weekend to check out some winter possibilities, climb and enjoy some much needed swimming. While the climbing didn't happen (there was an unfortunate forgetting of shoes) we did get to explore a good portion of Millcreek. I am excited to do some climbing there later on, it looks awesome! We also drove down Potash to a secluded boat launch and spent most of the day in the river on Saturday... we had planned on camping there that night, but something had happened to all the trees (as you can see above) and I was quite scared of them :)

the black flies are to blame

I'm still not quite sure how I'm going to work this dual climbing blogs thing - but right now I have posted something completely different on my SheSends Blog. So, please go check out that one as well.

On the 4th a group of us went up to Ferguson to climb in the shade and enjoy some stream-cooled beer. The climbing was excellent as usual and I again got on my new favorite route, Extreme Unction. I think that I will be leading that one next time we get over there, this last time I mock led it and figured out what gear I would want to place... so I know that I can do it :) After the climbing, we hiked back out to the mouth of the canyon and watched about 8 different sets of fireworks going off. It was a pretty awesome 4th!

This last Saturday I quit my job at No Worries because of the on going sexual harassment. I'm sure that many of you have seen me rather depressed over the last couple weeks and I can now say that things are starting to look up. Although I had to leave my very lucrative job, I am much happier and am going to an interview in about an hour. (Wish me luck!) I have also be given an interesting but potentially awesome offer for this coming winter... more updates as plans become more solid!
