Mayhem, Madness & Marbles

We finally had a gorgeous weekend day down here in Moab and Josh and I used it too the fullest! We actually managed to fit 3 climbs in on Saturday... I know that sounds like a pitiful, small amount. But when the sun only warms up the area a few hours before it goes away for good, you have to take what you can get. It is supposed to be crappy again this week, so hopefully it clears up in time for us to get in 2 weekend climbing days!

And for all of you that heard, Beau's lumps have gone away. He did not have cancer, only tons and tons of scar tissue. While I am very glad that it went away, I do wish that it had started to get smaller Before the day after we went to the vet. Of course he is my dog!

well timed thunder

I don't think that I have anything to say - this picture is cute though and Beau is actually looking at the camera!

the buttery flex

Josh and I had tried to hike to Delicate Arch for the sunset a couple times before, but hadn't quite made it in time. But, on Friday, we finally made it. It was one of the coldest nights that we've had so far this winter, but when we arrived there were still 4 photographers stationed with their tripods and equipment. I can't imagine what it looks like in the peak season, when the temps are much more favorable.
Despite the cold, we were also able to get a climb and a half in this afternoon. The climb was pretty awesome but I am still struggling with some fear issues. I think that I need to do some serious thinking about climbing - like why I like it, and what is really scaring me...

the absence of misery

The holidays are finally over! I was really close to loosing it a couple times at work, but thankfully the stress didn't get me too bad. The multi-tasking can be insane in my job! It is finally starting to slow down again, and although new tasks have been added in, we don't Have to chat while doing these as well. I would like to see any other retail worker help three people at the same time all day, everyday. It really is a lot to ask.

In other news, I've still been able to explore the areas around Moab. My recent hikes were in the canyons of Millcreek. The river was frozen this weekend, so I was able to easily get to the right fork and spend a good day alone in a gorgeous canyon. It might be because I was reading The Hobbit, but I really felt like I was on some grand adventure :)

by any means possible

Ahhh, a rest day! Isn't Beau a cutie? He noticed that I was taking pictures of him shortly after this and I had to pretend that I wasn't - but he still wouldn't shut his eyes again till I left.

thats the first task

Another day, and another hike. Beau and I hiked in the Fisher Towers today, just outside of Moab. Beau definitely liked since I had to ditch him yesterday, but I was quite tired and sore! I think that I've hiked around 20 miles in the last 4 days... I'm definitely not used to that.

Most of the hike was well marked by Cairns, but one corner went above and beyond. I had no doubt that I was on the right trail when I came up upon all of these little guys!

On another note - I have posted all of my goals for this New Year on 43 Things. It was rather difficult to come up with 43 goals, but I think I'm down to a good batch. (Although some are already on their way to being finished).
