and i'm off!

I am so excited about leaving for Hueco! Wade and I are leaving around one tonight and doing another all night drive down. The weather should be gorgeous... between 67 and 75 :) I am also not so worried about the money anymore. I just sold a bunch of my dvds on eBay... I think I made enough to cover gas to get back and food and camping... that makes this trip much much easier. I hope that everyone has a wonderful month! I am bringing my computer so I will hopefully get to update you from time to time... and several cameras are coming.

I am so excited!

batteries

I finally put the new battery in my van yesterday... which was quite the production. First I tried to get it out by just moving the passenger seat all the way forwards, but I quickly figured out that the seat has to come off before the batttery can come out. So after taking the seat all the way off I struggled to get the battery out of it's little slot... which was incredibly difficult due it's lack of handle (the only way it can come out is straight out, via the handle). After about half an hour I finally realized that i could take the handle off the new battery and put it in the old one and voila!, problem solved. Thinking that all the difficulties were over I rushed to put everything back together without seeing that the cd player had turned on. The sparks from my wrench hitting the positive scared the crap out of me!

Everything worked out though and I no longer have an immobilized van :)

february is climbing month!

I will be climbing in February! I will be going to Hueco for probably about 2 weeks on the first... I just have to decide if I will drive down with Wade for free (and not bring Bo because Wade is allergic) or drive down the van and spend money on gas. I would really like to have Bo with me...but not spending money would really be nice.

I guess it depends on who i find to take care of Bo.

i'm an idiot

I made a complete fool out of myself at the library today. I was walking up the stairs when I accidently missed a step and started to fall forwards. I threw my hands forward to stop myself, but realized far too late that my hands were in my coat pockets. Instead to stopping myself I actually speed up my downward progress and fell face and shoulders first into the stairs. I now have this wonderful bruise running all the way across both shoulders. I couldn't even get up right away because I was sort of pinned into the stairs and had some trouble getting my hands free. It sucked.... go ahead, laugh away.

Hueco Tanks

Far too late I realized that I hadn't taken any pictures of Hueco... so I took this one right before I left. Sorry about the lack of pictures, but I do fully plan on going back :) I will hopefully get the pictures that Matt took of me climbing so that I will something something better to show you... Posted by Picasa

Moonshine Roof

Here is a picture of me on Moonshine roof... it was such an amazing problem - the rock formations were incredibly unreal. Posted by Picasa

Bouldering Weekend!

Goodbye goodbye! I am soon off for a weekend of bouldering in Heuco Tanks... Texas. I believe that this will be my first time in Texas... and certainly the first time at Hueco. I will be back on Monday with pictures (assuming that I remember to bring my camera). Hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend. :)

my boy

The patch on his leg is from when he was fixed. I love the ears :) Posted by Picasa

Bo

Bo is a little camera shy.... I couldn't get him to look at the camera for more than 2 seconds. Posted by Picasa

It's da cute puppy!

I am now the mommy of an adorable puppy named Bo :) I picked him up from the humane society a few days ago. He is an 11 month old chow, blue heeler mix... with one floppy ear and one stiff ear. He is already house trained and completely devoted to me. We are currently working on cementing the sit and come commands... pictures will follow.

It was love at first sight :)

Belated Merry Christmas

Since I didn't really get to be on my computer over the holidays I thought i would wish everyone a belated merry christmas and happy new year. Sorry i didn't get to see many people while I was home, I ended up being much busier than I had thought I would be. It was really nice seeing my parents and I spent almost every second i could doing something with them.

I miss you Cynthia! I hope you were not too lonely over Christmas... it is too bad that my trip home couldn't overlap your return. I hope to be able to see you for your graduation. Posted by Picasa

my baby

I got to see my sweet kitty Tom over the holidays...and besides seeing my parents, that was definatly the best part :) no offense to anyone else it was just nice to have someone so devoted to me again. I had been so afraid that he wouldn't remember me. He is such a sweetheart... i cried when i had to leave him. Posted by Picasa
